After five years of business studies I hated, this was exactly what I needed: learning by doing, a steep curve, trying, failing, inventing. Two things I understood there. The professional life I'd chosen would be measured in dog years. And collaboration is the treasure.
The big step, and where I met strategy. Every project runs at two speeds, strategic and operational, and they only work together. Collaboration and politics became my passion. The complexity was no longer in building something. It was in making it happen together.
Intense. Hired to do one thing, ending up doing everything. That's where I found out my curiosity has no limit: sectors, topics, skills, none of it scares me.
A life that let me hop on opportunities without looking like a job hopper, with a giant promise attached: become an expert and go anywhere. Love at first sight. For the first time I had the place I needed to practise my job the way it should be practised.
I launched my own company around CX, tech and transformation, on my own. The best move I've ever made. Total freedom, with the full weight of responsibility. And for the first time I was selling my skills, not frameworks. I felt aligned.
My business collapsed in less than a day. After a week completely frozen, I did the thing I'd had in the back of my head for years: create content and share it. A podcast, a newsletter, LinkedIn, and I came out as the bubble gum pink lady consultant. It restarted my business, and it taught me I love creating content and never want to stop.
My coaching training started in 2017 and snowballed. The market evolved, my services with it, and I could finally fold my coaching skills into the transformation work I'd been doing for years. Now it's the thing people give me credit for. Resistance gets handled early, and I sign projects I wouldn't have signed before.
The market changed drastically in the last year, so I ate my own dog food and transformed my own services. Two years of experimenting with AI like a mad scientist, folding it into my methods and tools. I'm 42, the twenties are wild, and I can't wait to see where this takes us.
I needed photos and didn't want to look like every other consultant, so I wore what makes me feel strong: a pink T-shirt and my red shoes. Then people started recognising me at events: “you're the pink lady with the red shoes.” It became a marketing tool without my planning it. It stays. Yes, I wear it to the works council.
There's always been a side project. Websites, social media for podcasts and restaurants to learn how it works from the inside, a podcast, a newsletter, this site. I'm not a snob about projects: anyone who puts time and money into building something deserves attention, and I get curious about anything that needs building.
I don't step away from the hard decision, and I keep the customer in the room while we take it. I run things without needing to be managed. I push teams toward what they haven't tried yet. And I know my worth.
I run programs. I build the story that gets a steering committee to say yes. I'm an ICF-certified coach, which is why resistance gets handled early instead of late. And I publish what I learn while it's still warm. Different rooms, same read.
